A musical, film extravaganza with 16 Australian music videos screening in competition - loud and large on the biggest screen in the Southern Hemisphere.

FILMMAKER DEVELOPMENT SERIES


 

For established filmmakers or those just starting out, there’s something for everyone in this year’s Filmmaker Development Series - bigger than ever before with nine forums within the program.

Australian Screen Editors Guild and some of the country’s finest editing talent to share their own techniques, knowledge and experiences. Focus on Editing.
 
Join us for a free-ranging conversation with practitioners who have crossed 'to the other side' as they impart trade secrets and share stories of their adventures in Act. Write. Direct. Those who do it all.

 

A ‘must go to’ for any filmmaker who wants to get their short film seen by as many people as possible in today’s environment , there’s Distributing and Marketing Short Films Presented by Open Channel and Shaun Miller Lawyers.

 

The Sir Zelman Cowen Centre, Victoria University proudly present Pitch Clinic a moderated panel of film industry experts will give you advice on making the perfect pitch for funding a screen project.


Industry Open Day:
The SKFF Industry Open Day brings the film industry together on Saturday 26 May at the Astor Theatre for an afternoon that gives you direct access to the best organisations in the business.

 

This free event for all ages and levels of experience offers a series of forums, expert advice and exhibitions along with a live broadcast of RRR’s ‘Film Buffs Forecast’ from Festival Director Paul Harris.

 
 

 

CLOSING NIGHT AWARDS

 

Join the celebrations as we wrap up the St Kilda Film Festival for yet another year. Share in the excitement as the best of this year’s filmmakers are awarded over $40,000 of cash and in-kind prizes.
