SXSW SHORTS SHOWCASE

SXSW is a massive cross-platform cultural event unlike anything else in the world. Each year, fans and industry professionals from across the film, music and technology spectrum converge on Austin, Texas to network, launch new products and celebrate their creative practice.

Launched in 1994, the SXSW Film Festival was designed to provide a forum for new voices in filmmaking, embracing raw innovation and emerging talent, featuring provocative documentaries, comedies, genre standouts and much more.

"Like one of those hipsters who dresses ahead of the curve, SXSW has become the place to watch what independent cinema will be doing two years down the road.” Variety

In 2013, the SXSW Film Festival heads down under for an exclusive short film showcase, bringing the best of Texas to the St Kilda shore.  St Kilda Film Festival welcomes SXSW Short Film Programmer Claudette Godfrey, who will introduce Melbourne audiences to the best her Festival has to offer in four very special programs.
