Make A Film. Make A Difference.

Run by Victoria's Transport Accident Commission (TAC), the MAFMAD competition calls on young filmmakers aged 25 and under to pitch a short film that will challenge young people's attitudes to driving, independence and looking out for their mates. Using the theme 'Your mate's life is in your hands', MAFMAD asks young people to think twice before taking risks on the road.

From the ideas submitted, two filmmakers are given the go-ahead to produce their short films with a budget of $20,000, working with the TAC to develop a film that will make a difference. Winners will also receive a $5,000 cash prize.

Each year, the top MAFMAD film is screened at the Opening Night of the St Kilda Film Festival and in selected sessions throughout the Festival.
