Different Short Films... made with, by and for young people.

The Armed & Dangerous component of the St Kilda Film Festival is an inclusive, non-competitive showcase of student work from a diverse range of schools, education groups and community providers, and features work from VCAL (Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning), VET (Vocational Education and Training) and Applied Learning Projects.

Since 2005, Armed & Dangerous has been providing opportunities for students interested in film and media production to showcase their talents. In it’s ten year history, Armed & Dangerous has screened over 100 short films covering topics from teenage parenting, homelessness, refugees and street art, Indigenous programs to fantasy football and much more.

Armed & Dangerous is a free event and is proudly sponsored by Community Partners including the City of Port Phillip, St Kilda Film Festival, St Kilda Youth Service, The Inner Eastern Local Learning and Employment Network, The Victorian Applied Learning Association plus local businesses, individuals and others all passionate about young people and filmmaking.

Do you have a student film you think might fit the bill and would like to see on the big screen?  Armed & Dangerous would love to hear from you! We are also keen to hear from young people interested in presenting, photography or helping with web maintenance - there are lots of ways you can connect.
