Top 100 Films of 2008
From over 700 films entered, the 25th St Kilda Film Festival showcases the Top 100 Australian Short Films – with a $10,000 cash prize for Best Film, as voted by our panel of industry judges.
Opening Night
The Festival will celebrate its 25th birthday in style with Opening Night back in the spectacular Palais Theatre, St Kilda. This years Opening Night will screen an amazing array of films for the first time will feature films that are not included in the Top 100.
SoundKILDA - music videos
SoundKILDA 2008 is one of the strongest Australian music video sessions the Festival has seen. Screening film clips the way they were meant to be - large, loud and on the big screen. The night will include awards and after-party on Thursday 8 May, this is a night not to be missed!
International Sessions
The St Kilda Film Festival brings Melbourne audiences the best of the world’s short film festivals with international sessions from the Interfilm Berlin International Short Film Festival (Germany), Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival (France), and a South Korean Shorts program. We are fortunate this year to be joined by Christian Gesell Head of Sales and Distribution at interfilm Berlin along with Calmin Borel, Festival coordinator of Clermont-Ferrand who will be returning for his second year with us.
Special events
In addition, the Festival hosts industry forums, networking opportunities and the ever-popular Industry Open Day, on Saturday 10 May.
The St Kilda Film Festival will go out with a bang – with the Closing Night Awards and Party at the Powerhouse Function Centre, Albert Park. Be there to celebrate the best in Australian short film and wrap up the 2007 St Kilda Film Festival in style!
