Short Shorts Film Festival Asia

For the first time, St Kilda Film Festival will present a series of short films from the Japanese-born, Academy Award accredited Short Shorts Film Festival Asia.

Short Shorts Film Festival ASIA (SSFF & ASIA) began in Harajuku, Tokyo in 1999. Each year, the festival receives more than 5,000 short films created by maestros and emerging talents in over 100 countries. In 2004, it was recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences as a qualifying festival for the short film categories of the annual Academy Awards®. With the continued support from George Lucas, it has now become one of the largest short film festivals in Asia, as well as the only Oscar-qualifying short film festival in Japan. SSFF ASIA is a gateway for young filmmakers to take their first steps into the film industry.

Be the first to see the exciting new works coming out of one of Asia’s largest film festivals over two screenings at St Kilda Film Festival.
