In A Town Like Alex

Alexandra and district last year commemorated the 10-year anniversary of the Black Saturday bushfires. Alex was part of the first-response community efforts on the day and in the weeks that followed. The local CWA, which opened its doors with tea and sympathy, has 11 cups and saucers from a 1949 tea set. IN A TOWN LIKE ALEX celebrates the teacups' 70th birthday with a choreographed 'ballet' that mixes the old world (crockery from another time) with the new age (stop animation). Whimsical, fun and funny, the teacup ballet offers a collective laugh, an antidote to remembering a sad time.
