PAST EVENT | One Night The Moon | A Day of First Peoples' Film, Music and Conversation

Doors open at 1:00pm, and the screening will commence at 2:30pm with live music from 2:00pm.

Join us for a special screening of the film 'One Night the Moon', followed by an ‘In Conversation With’ session with the Star of the movie, Kelton Pell, hosted by Melbourne’s very own Uncle Jack Charles at the legendary Esplanade Hotel’s Gershwin Room.

Written 20 years ago by writer/director/filmmaker and proud Arrernte and Kalkadoon woman Rachel Perkins, Kelton gives a gripping and enigmatic performance as one of Australia’s most acclaimed and well known First Nation’s performers. Kelton’s performance is equally complimented by heavyweights of the film and music industry Kaarin Fairfax, Paul Kelly, the late Ruby Hunter, Memphis Kelly, Chris Haywood and David Field; the film went on to win critical acclaim both in Australia and internationally – collecting numerous awards along the way.

One Night the Moon is a musically oriented movie that will be complimented by First Impressions performances from First Peoples musicians sponsored by The City of Port Phillip and Creative Victoria.

The bar will be open, the conversation flowing, and the volume turned up, so how can you resist joining us for this one-of-a kind and personal exploration of music, cinema and culture.

Doors open at 1:00pm, and the screening will commence at 2:30pm with live music from 2:00pm.
