An Afternoon with Joan Gratz

We’re stoked to welcome as a special guest of the festival this year internationally recognised and Oscar-winning animator, Joan Gratz. Winning an Academy Award for her wonderful work Mona Lisa Descending a Staircase, Joan’s films range in content through painterly expressions of poetry, improvised abstraction, and animated social documentary.  

Curated by Joan herself join us for a special screening that includes some of her most well-known work alongside Australia’s own Oscar-winning animation Harvey Krumpet, local animator Dennis Tupicoff plus an In Conversation with this great artist after the screening. 

This session is a must for all fans of animation and cinema more broadly, lovely stuff.
