First Nations Women in Film

St Kilda Film Festival is proud to present this dedicated session of First Nations films created, produced and directed by female First Nations filmmakers. These filmmakers play a vital role raising awareness of issues faced by First Nations women, while preserving cultural knowledge and traditions.

Screening followed by a First Nations Women Film Panel facilitated by Tasha James (ABC Manager of Indigenous Archives), which will discuss the vital issues presented in the films screened. Panel members include actor Liza Maza, director Kimberly Benjamin and producer Kalinda Palmer.

A true highlight of this year’s program, this session is packed with highly-accomplished films and essential cultural insights. Don’t wait to lock in your seat.
