Practical SPFX: Makeup & Prosthetics

As part of our onset special effects, production and craft workshops today that embrace the use of firearms, workflows, intimacy and camera, we're proud to present a special session looking at the amazing art behind on set makeup and prosthetics.

Hosted by renowned local make up company, Sharp FX, in this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn about applying SFX Makeup to your productions and how best to prepare these set-ups so they are camera-ready.

If you’re a filmmaker working with genre or no budget, this intimate session will give you all the tools you need to get the most out of your on-set experience and make it look like you actually know what you’re doing!

The session will cover: 
• OH&S regarding Special Effects – blood etc
• Blood FX - How to create blood squirts
• Cheat Props – Prop Arms / Prop Heads
• Continuity Hacks
• Prosthetic Creation & Demonstration
• Neck puncture, severed thumb, Gutting effects
