Why do Editor's Make Everything So Hard?

PRESENTED BY THE AUSTRALIAN SCREEN EDITOR'S GUILD

The relationship between director and editor represents one of the key creative collaborations in the production process. Getting it right in capturing the conceptual intent of a director and in many ways acting as a mediator between them and the audience, it's a tough line to walk. So how can and do directors and editors establish the best possible process in getting the best possible result, how do they collaborate and communicate, how do they maintain a relationship after months of working together intimately and at what stage in the process should these relationships be forged.

In this session, join an esteemed panel of editors and directors as we take a deep dive into the process, the etiquette and idiosyncrasies of the dark art of the edit.

Charlotte George (Director, Buried)
