Australian Writers Guild Presents: What Drives The Stories We Tell?

PRESENTED BY THE AUSTRALIAN WRITERS GUILD

Pouring love, time and effort into writing a script is one thing - we've all got metaphorical (and literal) drawers full of scripts we'd love to make one day.  But finding the money, time, resources, crew and performers to actually make your film requires a whole new set of energy and skills. Why are screenwriters drawn to tell certain stories?

In a saturated market, how do we know which short films are worth our time? And how do you, as a writer, connect with people who believe in your story as much as you do?  Hosted by AWG Victoria, this panel will focus on screenwriters from this year's festival, and dive into the inspiration, motivation, and challenges behind writing short films.

Panellists include:

  • Tegan Higgenbotham (Legolas69)
  • Cooper Clark (Without White Clovers)
  • Jordan Watton (Feral)
