Calm the F**k Down: Screening and Panel
A truly incredible work that deserves its own space to breathe, Calm the F**k Down is a powerful documentary that explores what drives some men to hurt those they purport to love.
In a workshop setting, four female actors develop male personas and step into scenarios based on actual family violence events – as the perpetrator. The actors’ deep dive is informed by the insights of a men’s behavioural change specialist. Capturing this role reversal results in a documentary that reveals the emotional world these violent men inhabit and the effect of societal expectations on some men to be what it takes to ‘be a man’.
Join us for this very special screening of this important work, followed by a discussion with the Director, Helen Gaynor, and the participants of the documentary.
